Privacy Policy

Portfolio Nepal is a portfolio management and market analytics service for the Nepali capital market, operated by Peridot Pvt. Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the website portfolionepal.com and the Portfolio Nepal mobile app for Android and iOS (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Your Portfolio Nepal account is shared with Share Gyan (sharegyannepal.com), which is also operated by Peridot Pvt. Ltd. Share Gyan has its own privacy policy for the information collected in that app.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms and Conditions.

• Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo, and use them to create and identify your account.
• Portfolio data — the holdings, transactions and other records you add or sync, so the Service can show your portfolio and its analytics.
• MeroShare account for IPO applications — if you link a MeroShare account to a portfolio on the website, we store your DP, username, password, transaction PIN and CRN on our servers so we can apply for IPOs on your behalf, and we keep a record of those applications. Your MeroShare password and transaction PIN are encrypted on our servers. Your DP, username and CRN are not encrypted.
• Cookies and usage analytics — the website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Microsoft Clarity and PostHog, to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
• Messages you send us — for example, the details you enter when you book a demo or contact us.

Paid plans on portfolionepal.com are paid outside the Service using eSewa, IME Pay or mobile banking. After you pay, you submit the payment details on the website (such as the transaction code, plan, amount, any promo code and, if you choose, an image of your payment receipt) so we can verify the payment and activate your plan.

We do not receive or store your eSewa, IME Pay or bank login details, PIN or card numbers. We keep payment and transaction records as described in Account deletion.

When you use the mobile app, we collect and store the following so the app's features work:

• Account information from Google or Apple sign-in — your name, email address, profile photo (if available) and the sign-in identifier that Google or Apple provides for your account. We never receive your Google or Apple password. If you add a phone number to your profile, we store that too.
• Portfolio data — holdings and transactions, SIP records, commodity records, dividend receipts, watchlists, price alerts, notes and saved chart layouts.
• MeroShare — to sync your holdings, the app opens MeroShare in its in-app browser and you sign in to MeroShare yourself. If you save a MeroShare login in the app, it is stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore, and is not sent to our servers. When you sync, the app uploads your holdings, not your MeroShare login.
• PortAI and community content — your PortAI chat history, and the posts, comments and likes you make in the community. PortAI messages are processed by our servers and by the AI model providers we use to generate replies.
• Push notification tokens — an Expo push token for each device where you allow notifications, with the device platform, device name and app version, so we can send alerts, daily summaries and other notifications. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service, which uses Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and the Apple Push Notification service on iOS. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
• Usage needed for features — information required to run a feature you use, such as your daily summary preferences.

No in-app payments. The mobile app has no in-app purchases and does not take payments of any kind. Premium features in the app are free for signed-in users. The app does not collect payment or card details.

The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.

• To create your account and sign you in.
• To provide the features you use: portfolio tracking, MeroShare sync, IPO applications, alerts, PortAI and the community.
• To send the notifications you have enabled.
• To verify payments made for website plans.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To meet our accounting and legal obligations.

You can delete your account in the mobile app at any time: open Profile, then Privacy and data, then Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. If you do not have the app, you can ask us to delete your account by email. See Delete your account for step-by-step instructions.

Deletion happens on our servers immediately and cannot be undone.

Permanently deleted:

• Portfolio holdings and transactions
• SIP records and commodity records
• Linked MeroShare credentials and IPO application records
• Watchlists, price alerts and notes
• PortAI chats
• Community posts, comments and likes
• Registered devices for push notifications
• Daily summaries and their preferences
• Dividend receipts
• Saved chart layouts

Anonymized: your account record is kept only in anonymized form. Your name, email address, phone number, profile photo and Apple and Google sign-in identifiers are removed from it. The account can no longer be signed in to. If you sign in again later with the same Google or Apple account, a new, empty account is created.

Kept: payment and transaction records for website plans, including the file name of any payment receipt you uploaded, are kept to meet our accounting and legal obligations. After deletion these records are no longer linked to your name, email address or other identity details.

Share Gyan: because the account is shared, deleting your Portfolio Nepal account also closes your Share Gyan account.

Uninstalling the app or signing out does not delete your account or the data stored on our servers.

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is deleted or anonymized as described in Account deletion.

• Turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
• Delete your account in the app or by email, as described in Delete your account.
• Contact us with any question about your information.

We may update this policy when the Service changes. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
